Pandora’s opening of her infamous box is usually seen in negative light, bringing pain and misfortune to humanity. I disagree. I see it as a metaphor for human genesis - a manifestation of extraordinary courage. She realizes that it is up to her and to all women who come after her to give birth to human life as it should be, with all of its catastrophes and weaknesses and faults as well as its glories.
