Deserts are rarely associated with rain; but when the storms come, the hard-baked soil permits precious little absorption, and the resultant flash floods demand plenty of these storm drains. In this painting the drain cover is planted surrealistically into the storm itself. "Las Vegas Storm Drain" focuses on the seemingly unbound artistry that is incorporated in objects that are all too often ignored by passers-by.
