The murky waters of the rio della Misericordia in Venice’s old Jewish quarter offer a myriad of reflections. The constant motion of the reflected architectural lines reminds one of the instabilities of Venice’s Jewish population. It also brings to mind Antoni Gaudí, whose rejection of the conventional straight line ushered in new ways of thinking.
